Antiguas Familias is born as a tribute to the ancient families, that between the XVI and the XIX, colonized these lands and brought with them from Europe the vines that allow us to enjoy today excellent wines, which are located among the most prestigious in the world.
Generation after generation, the members of these ancient families or Antiguas Familias, transmitted to the next generation all of their wine making experience and wisdom.
And this way, they were able to know the ideal climates and the best valleys in which to plant each different kind of grapes. This way with there ancestors knowledge they are able to get the best quality product as we can find in Antiguas Familias Reserva and Gran Reserva.

Businessman with the soul of an artist. He declares that Antiguas Familias is his most prized entrepreneurship, where he rescues all of his families that has been linked throughout generatons to vineyards and wines.
Today he leads a team of exceptional people, to whom he always demands that they all put their best in the search for excellence.
Álvaro Castro
COO
Family man, formed as a Comercial Engineer in Chile and the US, passionate about sports, where he participated in Discus throw in the Olympics.
He has a great executive capacity, always restless; with a friendly personality he has been able to integrate many teams with great acceptancy. But his main passion is entrepreneurship, mainly in International commerce, where he is considered an expert. He worked, studied, and lived in China for many years, fact which allows him to unwind perfectly and easily in the Chinese, English and Spanish, which is his native language.
Cristian Pino
Oenologist
He is our Oenologist and loves his job. Cristián developed his career in premium vineyards in the Leyda and Casablanca Valleys. He always follows the wine, he has seen the world and usually visits Argentina, California, Europe and Japan, among others, but his main focus is always in Chile. He currently leads the oenologist´s at Viña Anakena, and advises in the production of important wine brands like Antiguas Familias.
He also teaches oenology and wine tasting courses for beginners, and is commonly invited to wine tastings for important magazines and specialized books.
Cristian says: “We are searching constantly to develop wines with identity and expression, that talk about their origen, their people, their land, mixing knowledge given by tradition with innovation and technology, that allows us to get perfection.
Demonstrating that Chile is a new wine developer of international class.”
Eduardo Alfaro
Sommelier
Cuban that immigrated to Chile where he developed his career in the gastronomical world, thanks to his natural talents as a taster. In our days he is on the peak of his career as a renown Sommelier; Eduardo is in charge of events and table tasting at the prestigious “Club de Amantes del Vino”. He is also a teacher and an advisor in the wine market.
